(논문요약)[목적] 본 연구는 세계무대를 향하는 우리나라 영화산업을 볼 때 수준높은 일러스트레이션을 조형적인 측면에서 재조명하여 영화의 본질적인 이미지를 함축적으로 표현하고 전달할 수 있는 예술성을 지닌 영화포스터 일러스트레이션 개발에 새로운 방향제시를 모색하고자 한다. (영문초록)[영문초록] A Communication is an essential factor for the human being who was born as a social animal in conducting such social living. Until the modern time since prior to history, the human beings have deliberated how they could convey their will exactly and promptly without misinterpretation. In the beginning, speaking, then speech and letter had become a main means of conveyance, but a necessity of new information conveying medium to deliver the will simply and clearly had powerfully come to the front, when the society had become complicated in its diversity, along with the Industrial Revolution. One of the means hapoened under such situations is Poster, a vision conveyance medium. The author intended that this thesis would be a help for production of higher level Korean Film Poster through comparative analysis to the progress course of Korean Film Poster, Illustration of Korean Film Poster, and illustration of Foreign Film Poster. As result of analysis, since the film poster equiped with fixed form of the past 1930's was produced, presently special educational institutes such as college of art to train for industrial design as major due to social desire to poster and to recognition for the film of the general public happened a lot, although its progress speed was slow, and producting attitude of poster or formative progress are well expected. satisfied the social desire, due to lack of film businessmen's interest and to lack of special designer's participation. It can be found that the illustration expression of film poster seems to attach weight to the expression just to draw out the eyesight and means to fill the canvass space, disregarding the typicalness, and to industrial aspect. And as result of comparation with foreign's, the Korean film poster seemed to be inclined to photograph and character-centerness, so it gave us a feeling that an artistic sense kept by the poster is reduced. Generally a picture can express various illustration and has an advantage to keep reality feature, while it has a disadvantage to be fallen behind in dramatic effect or sensulus beauty, or artistic feeling. As comparative analysis between the characteristics of Korean film poster and foreign film poster, it is found that it is urgent subject for us to induce the specialists so that they may positively participate in production of film poster, exerting ourselves for fostering special graphic designer, illustrator, photography, as well as stirring up the recognition of the general public for diversified exchange of cultural arts and film art, in order to promote the qualitative level of the Korean film poster.
