(논문요약)[목적]본 연구에서는 청소년 인성교육의 필요성에 따라 현대에 새롭게 두각되고 있는 영화상담을 통해 청소년 문제 해결 및 예방을 위한 하나의 방안으로 적용하여 실시함으로써 그 효과를 확인하고자 한다. (영문초록)[영문초록]A film is a form of mass media that affects and consequently changes public life, as well as functioning as an object for individual appreciation or aesthetic experience. As a mirror which reflects social psychology, it portrays people's wishes and colors them with fantasy. Therefore it necessarily affects the familial units to which one must belong. And it sometimes change to history, lifestyles and the environment. This article initiates the question as to how we can help adolescents to appreciate films, and with what methods we can do so. I, therefore, suggest that by consulting adolescents about films, we can educate them to develop their own viewpoints. This would lead to an improved understanding that would result in the adolescents' considerate distinction against defenseless exposure to all kinds of media. In this respect I will discuss film with the view that it delivers not only sensuous satisfaction, but also vigor to human psychology and life as well. This article also views film as a good program for solving adolescent and familial problems from a counselling perspective. I will apply adolescents to the counsel model when using movies to encourage counselling. According to this idea, I plan to lead them to interpret films as ‘texts’. Furthermore, I will discuss the possibility of film as a psychological cure, involving the watching of movies with adolescents. When it comes to talk of the influence of sexual and violent media on adolescents, there needs to be some change in the usual prejudice that they are nothing but harmful. Instead we should pay more attention to the question of what and why the youth prefer amid various forms of media. This is supported by the fact that it undoubtedly depends on the personal users's characteristics as to how sexual and violence media affects them. In this respect, a discernment about the effect of harmful media on youth and children with narrow and superficial standards would not be of any help to controlling such media in a society. If we can say that the method of treating harmful media reflects public morality and its developmental status in a society, it is a matter of urgentcy that we now make a mental switchover in terms of mass media control. Film has already superceded the category of mere entertainment and there remains the possibility of an educational approach.
