(논문요약)[국문초록] 어린이와 청소년들이 좋아하는 만화영화에서 중요한 역할을 하는 것이 바로 만화영화음악이다. 이러한 만화영화음악의 역사는 1928년 탄생된 월트디즈니의 애니메이션 '증기선 윌리'로부터 시작된다. 만화영화음악은 TV드라마 방송용어를 기준으로 살펴보면 개시음악, 주제음악, 단점음악, 배음음악, 말미음악 등이 있고, 창작 여부에 따라서는 기존음악, 순수창작음악, 라이브러리 뮤직 등이 있다. 또한 작곡가가 시도한 음악 유형에 따라서는 기교형, 클래식형, 뮤지컬형, 재즈형 그리고 주제곡을 강조한 음악 등이 있다. 만화영화음악은 만화영화에 어떠한 기능을 부여하는 기능적 영화음악으로, 영상과 음악이 동시에 중요성을 가지며 줄거리의 구조의 주요 부분에서 사용되기도 하고 형식적으로 단순성을 가지며 소리와 영상이 일치한다는 특징을 갖는다. 만화영화음악은 상업적인 면에 있어서, 그리고 청소년의 외국문화수용에 있어 중요한 역할을 하기도 한다. 이에 이 연구에서는 만화영화음악이 청소년들에게 어떠한 영향을 미치는가에 대해 고찰해 보고, 그에 대한 교육적 방안을 모색하기 위해 경북 구미시의 중학교 남·녀 학생 374명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 만화영화음악은 학생들이 만화영화를 반복하여 시청하게 하는데 영향을 미치며, 만화영화음악에 대한 학생들의 호감 역시 만화영화 재시청에 영향을 끼친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 기악 학습 및 외국어 학습 욕구에도 영향을 주고 있으며, 만화영화음악 관련 상업물 및 인터넷 사이트 이용에도 영향을 끼치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 학생들이 가장 좋아하는 만화영화, 만화영화음악, 보유하고 있는 영상물 및 음반의 국적은 거의 일본이었으며, 가장 배우고 싶은 외국어 역시 일본어라는 응답이 가장 많았다. 이러한 결과는 학생들은 일본 문화에 호감을 가지고 있다는 한가지 예가 될 수 있으며, 만화영화와 만화영화음악을 통해 일본 문화를 접하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 위와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같이 제언하고자 한다. 첫째, 청소년들에게 질 높은 만화영화와 만화영화음악이 제공되어야 한다. 둘째, 청소년들에게 제공되는 만화영화와 만화영화음악은 여러 나라의 다양한 작품이어야 한다. 셋째, 우리나라 만화영화와 만화영화음악이 많이 창작되어야 한다. 넷째, 만화영화음악이 교육적으로 활용되어야 한다. 이상과 같이 만화영화음악이 청소년들에게 미치는 영향에 관하여 설문조사 연구를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 이 연구가 만화영화음악의 교육적 활용 및 관련된 다른 연구들 그리고 우리나라 만화영화음악 창작 활성화 등에 작은 도움이 되었으면 한다. (영문초록)[영문초록] One of the favorite part when children or youngsters watch an animation is its animation music. The history of animation music stems from a Walt Disney's animation, 'Steamboat Willie' in 1928. Based on the term of television broadcasting, the animation music may be divided as opening, theme, background and ending musics; based on creation there are existing, purely created or library musics. By the intention of composer, it can be sorted as technical-, classic-, musical-, jazz- and theme-oriented-style of musics. Animation music is included in the functional music that offers a function to certain animation, in which both image clip and music are critical. It may be used in structure of storyline and main part. It's form is rather simple, and its sound and image are matched each other. In addition, animation music plays an important role in importing foreign culture for the young in terms of commerce. Present study researched, therefore, how the music of an animation effects on the youth, and to seek for an educational solution about the problem, a poll of 374 students attended in middle schools of Gumi, Kyungsangbuk-do was practiced. As a result of the study, the fact that the theme music of animation, when it is heard along with the animation, effects on repeated watching was found. The preference to an animation music also impacted on watching the animation once more, the desire of learning instrument and speaking foreign language, purchase of commodity related to the music, and use of relative internet site. Meanwhile, the national source of the most favorite animation, animation music, and video tapes or CDs possessed for the students was Japan, and the majority replied they want to learn Japanese language. This may be one of examples that the students are friendly to Japanese culture. It was also found that they are getting access to Japanese culture through animation and animation music. Based on the results, some suggestions are proposed as follows: First, superior animation and animation music should be offered to the youth. Second, it is necessary to diversify the national source of the animation and animation music from various nations. Third, it is urgent to create a lot of Korean animations and animation musics. Fourth, it is desirable to make use of animation music in educational setting. In conclusion, it is hopeful that present study may be a help for educational use of animation music, further researches related to the study and creative activation of Korean animation music.
