내용
(논문요약)[영문초록] The pleasure showed in horrible films was examined in various ways in the paper. “Horror” originally refers to the reaction of aesthetic subjects, and can emotionally demonstrates fear, disgusting, worry and so on. Physiologically it shows short of breath or fast beat of heart. That’s to say, the sense of horror is not a pure emotion, but contains various emotions and is a kind of feeling experience with obvious physiological symptoms. Looked on as one type of art which involves with emotion reaction of audiences, horrible films cover various kinds of medias to arouse the negative emotions of audiences such as fear, worry and disgusting for its purpose. Anyhow, why do so many people still enjoy watching this kind of film? The fact that people like watching horrible films tells us that watching horrible films do give satisfaction or pleasure to audiences. In terms of the feeling experience in real life, pleasure and horror are so extremely different that they can hardly be compatible. This brings up a basic problem to us, that is in the process of watching horrible films, what’s the link between the two extremely contradictional feelings? As a matter of fact, through revelation of harm and destroy of the beautiful and depiction of the breakup of individual life, horrible films aim to look for the flash of life and let the audiences feel the existence of life force among fear, panic, darkness and evil. It should be stated that the description of the dark world and the destroy of life is not the final purpose. People now haven’t many opportunities to face or accept the horrible scenes, however, the deep rooted sense of fear in the heart doesn’t become weak as the dangers in the world decrease. People through various means express their curiosity towards horror and worry in inner heart. And as a twisted and deformed mirror, horrible films can exactly meet people’s curiosity as well as express fear and worry of human being and strain the nerve. At the same time they reflect every aspect of real sociey and the weakness when human beings face the horrible things, and then release the negative emotions at the moment of stimulus and panic. On the other hand, in the history of aesthetics it’s common to find aesthetic activities with painful human experience, such as tragedy that produces sympathy and fear. Sublimity can be fearful as well , grotesque colours horror and ugliness is often related to painful feeling. Anyhow, why can horrible films today develop a school of its own in the category of aesthetics and become the new favourite in the field of art of horror? The paper analyses the emergence of sense of horror in the aesthetic experience of horrible art represented by horrible films and the relation between horror and pleasure. In comparison with these aesthetic experience such as tragedy, sublimity, grotesque and ugliness, it is found that horror has been existed as an independent aesthetic experience. Starting from these problems, the paper first will compare art of horror with other category of aesthetics, analyse the similarities and differences so as to make clear the acceptable features of horrible art.
