(논문요약)[국문초록] 본 논문은 영화의 구조적인 요소들이 가지는 특성들이 영화 음악 편곡에 미치는 영향에 대하여, 이론적인 선행 연구와 영화 <Sister Act2> 의 삽입곡 'Joyful Joyful'을 통하여 연구, 분석한다. 영화에 있어 음악은 뗄래야 뗄 수 없는 매우 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있으며, 또한 따로 논하기에 충분할 만큼 영향력을 가지고 있다. 그러나 음악은 영화 속에 존재할 때, 스스로의 가치보다 영화를 위한 화면에 종속되어 사용되어 질 수 밖에 없음을 인지해야 한다. 이를 뒷받침하기 위해 영화를 위해 작곡된 오리지날 스코어가 아닌, 스스로 충분한 가치를 가지고 있던 클래식 음악들이 영화 안에 인용되어 편곡되어 지는 것에 대해 그 기능과 역할, 그리고 편곡된 사례들을 분석한다. 영화는 하나의 주제를 위해 여러 가지 요소들이 유기적으로 연결되고 진행되는 종합예술이다. 이 요소들 중 하나인 음악 역시, 영화 안에서 어떠한 방법들을 통하여 유기적으로 연결되고 하나의 주제를 이끌어 내는가에 대한 특징들을 베토벤의 제9번 합창교향곡 '환희의 송가'를 편곡한 'Joyful Joyful' 을 중심으로 살펴본다. 'Joyful Joyful'을 분석하는 것에는, '환희의 송가'가 가졌던 기존의 성격과 이미지와 영화<Sister Act2>에 삽입된 배경과의 관계를 분석하는 것부터, 영화의 구조적 요소인 테마, 극적요소 등을 비롯한 여러 요소들을 바탕으로, 이에 유기적으로 배열되어 있는 곡의 구조를 분석한다. 또한 곡에서 나타나는 여러 장르들, 멜로디의 변형, 화성의 변형, 악기편성, 가사 등의 변형된 편곡 요소들이 영화 안에서 어떤 존재로 위치하며 무엇을 말하고자 하는가에 대해, 음악적 관점이 아닌 영화의 관점에서 연구, 분석한다. 그러나 독립된 예술로서 가치 있는 음악이 영화 안에 종속되어 편곡되어 진다하더라도 그 역시 또 하나의 예술 영역임을 인정하며, 그러나 편곡은 반드시 영화가 말하고자 하는 하나의 주제를 이끌어 내는 것에 초점을 둔 편곡임을 기억하며, 나아가 영화 음악의 편곡을 하는 음악인이나 일반인에게도 영화의 구조적 요소가 편곡에 미치는 영향을 알게 하는데 도움이 되기를 기대한다. (영문초록)[영문초록] Concerning the effect of the characteristics of the structural elements of a movie on the arrangement of a soundtrack, this paper conducts research into and analyzes the effect through ‘Joyful Joyful’, a soundtrack in the movie, <Sister Act 2> as well as through theoretical prior research. In movies, music is now playing such a very important role that it seems to be inseparable from the film, and, also, it is sufficiently influential as to be discussed, separately. However, it should be noted that music cannot but be used as a part subordinate to the screen for a movie rather than being used for its own value when it exists in a movie. In order to support this, the study analyzes the function and role of classical music, which has enough value to exist apart from being an original score composed for a movie concerning the arrangement of music after being featured in a movie, and the cases of arrangement of such music for movies. Music is a comprehensive art in which various elements are organically connected and progress for one theme. Regarding the characteristics related to whether music as one of these elements is also organically connected through certain methods in a movie and withdraws one theme, the study looks into it centering on ‘Joyful Joyful’, which is the arrangement of ‘Ode to Joy’ in Beethoven Symphony No. 9 Op. 125. In analyzing ‘Joyful Joyful’, the study conducts an analysis ranging from the relationship between the existing character of ‘Ode to Joy’ and its image and a background inserted in the movie <Sister Act 2>, to the structure of the song in which a theme, which is organically arranged in the relationship, based on various elements involving the theme of the movie and the dramatic elements. Also, the study researches and analyzes diverse genres appearing in a song, and transformed arrangement elements such as melodic transformation, harmonic transformation, the organization of musical instruments, and lyrics, as to how they are placed in a movie to express things, and what they try to say, not from a musical perspective but from the perspective of the movie. However, even if music, which is valuable as independent art, may be arranged in a subordinate form in a movie, that should also be another artistic domain. Meanwhile it should be remembered that arrangement focuses on drawing one theme a movie intends to deliver. Furthermore, this study is expected to help either musicians who arrange soundtracks or the general public to discover the effect of the structural elements of a movie on arrangement.
