(논문요약)[국문초록]본 연구에서는 2000년대 이후 한국 로맨틱 코미디 영화에 나타난 남성 캐릭터의 재현에 대해 분석하였다. 관객선호도가 높았던 2000년대 이후 한국 로맨틱 코미디 영화중에서 사랑의 방식과 결혼 등에 대한 동시대적 고민을 지닌 현실적 인물이 등장하는 <엽기적인 그녀>, <싱글즈>, <연애의 목적>, <내 아내의 모든 것> 등 네 편의 영화를 중심으로 남성 캐릭터 재현에 관하여 분석한 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 우선 2000년대 이후 한국 로맨틱 코미디 영화 속 남성 캐릭터는 성격적인 면에 있어서 감성적이고 긍정적이며 행동적인 면에 있어서는 배려심을 가지고 여성을 도와주려는 특성을 지니고 있다. 전 세대 멜로 장르 영화와는 달리 사회적 위치가 여성과 동등하고 연령대도 젊었으며 외모가 평범하고 친근하다는 특징을 지니고 있었다. 또한 사랑과 결혼에 대한 태도에 있어서는 새로운 변화를 수용하고자 한다는 점을 고찰할 수 있었다. 이 연구를 통한 가장 중요한 성과는 남성 캐릭터들이 빠르게 변화하는 가치관에 혼란과 갈등을 느끼면서도 여성과의 진정한 소통을 이루기 위해 자신을 힘겹게 변화시키고 있으며 사회적 성장통을 겪고 있는 여성을 자발적으로 포용하고 지원하고 있다는 점에 대한 고찰이다. 이러한 연구를 통해 여성은 태어나는 것이 아니라 만들어지는 것이라고 보부와르가 말했듯이 남성 또한 사회적 요구에 의해 만들어지는 것이며 한국 남성들이 스스로의 행복을 위하여 이를 자발적으로 수용하고 있다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 이 연구가 새로운 시대에 걸 맞는 남녀 간의 소통과 사랑의 방식을 모색하는데 조금이나마 도움이 되고 새로운 시대에 걸 맞는 새로운 로맨틱 코미디 영화 기획에도 다소나마 참고가 되기를 바란다. 또한 더 나아가 새로운 남녀 간 상생 방식이 더욱 탐색되어 사회문화제도적으로 수용되기를 기대한다. (영문초록)[영문초록]The purpose of this study was to examine the reproduction of male characters in Korean romantic comedy films, focusing on the films after the 2000s. Among Korean romantic comedy films after the 2000s of which audience’s preference was great, such four films as <My Sassy Girl>, <Singles>, <Rules of Dating> and <All of My Wife’s>, of which characters were practical in that they had contemporary anxieties about the modality of love, marriage and so on, were selected and examined about its reproduction of male characters. Study findings are as follows: First of all, male characters in Korean romantic comedy films after the 2000s are emotional and positive in their disposition and considerate and ready to provide help to females in their behavior. Different from melo-genre films of the previous generation, their social position is the same with females’, they are young, and their appearance is ordinary and friendly. In addition, they want to accept the change of attitudes toward love and marriage. The most important finding of this study is that male characters are confused and come into conflict with quickly changing values, but they struggle to change themselves in order to achieve real communication with females and voluntarily embrace and support females who suffer from social growing pains. As Beauvoir said: “One is not born, but rather becomes a woman”, the investigator, via this study, understood the fact that males are not born, but made by social requirements, and Korean males accept it voluntarily for their happiness. The investigator hopes study findings will be a little help in groping after an appropriate modality of communication and love between males and females in this new age and a small reference to a well-matched planning of new romantic comedy films in this new age. In addition, the investigator hopes many new win-win strategies of living between males and females are examined and accepted as sociocultural systems in the future.
