(논문요약)[국문] 영화 <마더>는 어떤 이데올로기를 생산하고 관객에게 전달하고 있는가? <마 더>가 가지는 모호함과 불확실성은 다양한 해석을 도출한다. 이 영화가 다양한 해석을 생산해 내는 것은 여러 관점의 차이로 발생하지만, 한편으로 <마더>가 수많은 상징과 은유를 통해 다양한 이데올로기를 내포하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 한국사회에서 모성은 강함과 희생을 통해 가족 관계를 유지하게 만든다. 모성 은 젠더와 마찬가지로 고정 불변의 것이 아니며, 사회의 필요에 의해 규정되고 강요되는 것이다. 지배 계급에 의해 강요되는 모성을 무비판적으로 수용하는 엄 마는 현대사회의 구조 속에서 뒤틀리고 폭주하다가 괴물로 변하게 된다. 가족의 역사적 변천사를 돌이켜보면, 가족이란 생계를 유지하기 위한 경제적 이유로 변화해 왔다. 현대 한국사회에서 당연시 되는 가부장제 또한 지배계급이 만들어내는 허상 중 하나일 뿐이다. <마더>는 이데올로기에 둘러싸여 그것을 스스로 내면화하는 대중들에게 진실과 대면할 것을 요구한다. 엄마에서 가족으로 확장되는 이야기는 한국의 비극적 근현대사와 맞물려 한국 의 부도덕한 지배계급에 대한 비판과 풍자를 전개한다. 보수 정권이 은폐하고 싶 은 친일의 역사와 친미의 굴종 관계. 그리고 권력을 유지하기 위해 자행된 조작 과 살인의 여러 모습을 혜자와 도준을 통해 보여주고 있다. 다양한 의미체계를 내포하는 영화가 상업적 성공을 거두는 것은 이데올로기를 대중들에게 효과적으로 전달하고 있다는 것을 증명한다. <마더>는 모성, 가족, 한국현대사가 내포하는 여러 이데올로기를 관객에게 극적인 긴장감을 통해 전달 한다. 봉준호가 관객에게 이데올로기를 전달하는 방식은 히치콕이 서스펜스를 통 해 관객을 몰입하게 하는 방식과 유사하다. 봉준호 감독은 예술적 가치와 상업적 성공을 성취했다. 그가 생산하는 이데올 로기와 그것을 전달하는 영화적 방식은 앞으로 한국영화가 어떻게 나아가야 할 것인지를 인식하게 한다. (영문초록)[영문] What does Korean film <Mother> tell us about its ideology to audiences? <Mother> which has the uncertainty comes up with variety of interpretations. It has various construe that causes from different view point, meanwhile the movie connotes various of symbolic and metaphorical meaning of its ideology. The maternal love from Korean culture shows that intenseness and attitude of self-sacrifice to continue the family relation hold. The maternal love is not unchangeable li k e gender, and it is forced by social necessity. In Korean history, the family has changed over the past centuries because of the economical reason. Patriarchal system of our culture was also developed from the historical ruling classes. <Mother> is expecting the audiences that they should face to the truth instead of internalizing the Korean traditional culture and ideology. Movie starts of story of mother and goes to the family after on. The story of movie is telling that criticism and satirizing of unethical ruling classes in modern history of Korea. It describes the main character Hye-ja(Character of Mother) and Do-joon(character of Son) as committing of the fabrication and homicide action. It also shows us the government in the play would like to conceal the pro-Japanese action and is satir zing that bending a knee to pro-American policies by the conservative government. The movie which has many profound significance is achieving high success in these days. It shows that the ideological way of expression conveys effectively. The <Mother> is showing the ideology with dramatic tension to audiences from the expression of maternal love, family and modern history of Korea. The way of expression from director Mr. Bong, Joon-Ho is similar to the way of suspension of Hitchcoc k by showing ideology from the movie. The director Mr. Bong, Joon-Ho accomplished both commercial and artistic succession. His ideological expression of his movie shows us how Korean movies should advance in the future.
