(논문요약)This thesis was interested in imaging literary works, especially the mode of transformation and the cause revealed when a novel is imaged. This study is about how a Thai steadyseller novel 『Koogam』 was transformed and why did such transformation occur when it was remade through TV drama and movie in 2013. Today the relation between novel and motion pictures is getting close and expanded, and the exchange is inevitable through mutual complement. In this trend, literary works' imaging-related research is judged to be necessary for literature majors as it can help understand literary works. There are common things between novel and motion pictures like TV drama or movie, but the way of deliverance is quite different. The way of expression becomes different as novel relies on character media, while TV drama or movie, on motion pictures. Therefore, transformation is inevitable in the process of imaging literary works. Besides the transformation caused by difference of media, a work is re-made into a new work different from the original work according to the intention of director and playwright. Material of this research, the novel 『Koogam』 was first published in 1969 and steadily re-published about 15 times until today. This work has been very popular as re-made 4 times as movie and 6 times as TV drama. Especially it was re-made as TV drama and movie at the same time in 2013, interesting for this research to compare the difference of media. Generally TV drama and movie are not classified as the same category, having many differences. In case of TV drama, much efforts are needed to draw out interest from viewers, as it has a long broadcasting time. Therefore, diverse stories and characters should be added besides the main story. On the contrary, movie proceeds mostly with a main story so that the audience could concentrate within as short as about two hours, and that could be the cause of transformation. Besides the difference of media, there is also the intention of director and producer reflected on, and this research could easily found that kind of difference. Research of imaging Southeastern Asia literary works has not yet been active. This thesis might hopefully be a chance, and better researches are expected to come out after the lacking parts are complemented.
