내용

Dead fish, nude photos, a coconut, and a cross-your-heart bra - these are some of the items that wind up in Australia's dead letter office, where undeliverable mail is sorted for a return address by its jolly employees, Anne, Carolyn and Bob. They receive an average of 8000 pieces of mail a week: a 50-page love letter, a letter from an abused child asking for new parents leetters to God and the dead, and letters from the lonely, who just write 'hoping someone will here them'. There is the annual flood of requests to Santa at Christmas- when they can, Anne and Carolyn answer these by posting cards <from Santa>. They approach their job with humor and heart, as pieces of other people's lives are revealed to them daily. Inevitably, the lives of these strangers impact their own. An amusing, bizarre and poignant documentary that captures the essence of human sadness and joy.
