(논문요약)[목적] 본 연구는 디지털 영화에 나타난 상호작용성 연구를 위해 DVD 영화 타이틀에 나타나는 컨텐츠를 연구 대상으로 삼아 상호작용 요소의 종류, 기능, 효과등을 고찰하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 이러한 상호작용성에 대한 연구는 다양ㅇ한 상호작용의 방식과 내용을 도출함으로써 그 활용과 적용에 있어 범위를 넓히는데 기여하고 디지털 영화의 제작에 있어 단순 영화제작뿐이 아닌 상호작용성을 고려한 영화와 다양한 채널에 맞는 인터랙티브 영화 제작의 방향을 제시하는데 있다. (영문초록)[영문초록] Transformations in media environment toward digital technology is a major trend nowadays and movie is not an exception. There have been many changes in productions as well as presentations of the movie. Digital technology that used to be applied to the special effects alone in the movie, now changes the entire production mechanism to 100% digital processes. A few years ago, people had to go to the theater or video rental shop to watch a movie, but now they can enjoy it through DVD players and internet browsers at home. The importance of new media such as internet and DVDs gains gravity with advanced functions such as network capability, GUI (Graphic User Interface) and hypermedia technology. DVDs stand out with laserdisc quality of screen, three-dimensioned surround sound, and special multimedia contents, thus it provides audiences with a high quality movie with vivid visual experiences. Among all the new media technologies, DVDs have drawn spotlight because it can provide user interactivity with special features such as network capabilities. The interactivity in the use of DVDs provide can be discussed based on two terms: form and contents The term 'form' in this thesis is defined as usage as well as presentation of information. With its network feature and built-in contents, the DVD offers interactivity to the users by enabling selecting, manipulating and producing the contents that had before been communicated one-way only. By providing an interface with reciprocal action and integrated cognitive information structure, DVDs disapprove the idea that interactivity can be provided only when connected to network. The term 'contents' is defined as the information that each DVD menu contains. Contents of a DVD provide interactivity with direct or indirect relevance to the story of the movie. While manipulating interactive contents, users can have in-depth experiences of the movie. This interactivity in DVD contents makes movie-watching more intensive. This thesis found that DVDs show more interactivity when their contents have more significant relationship with the movie story. The DVD contents that are related to the story directly provides users an issue to the movie, which can connect to setting an agenda in user's mind. Through this process, DVD contents can establish interactivity with users. Although the interactivity that DVDs provide is in its infancy, it presents infinite possibilities to the media environment with multimedia feature.
