(논문요약)[국문초록] 단편영화는 적은 예산과 짧은 제작기간, 미흡한 제작시스템, 드문 상영 기회, 제작비 회수의 어려움 등등 열악한 제작요소들을 모두 갖추고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 단편영화는 영화가 발명된 이래 수많은 위대한 감독들을 탄생시켰으며, 기존의 장편상업영화가 타성에 젖어 쓰러질 때마다 매번 자유로운 실험정신으로 긴급 수혈하여 그 생명을 유지, 발전시키는 데에 한 몫을 해왔다. 최근 들어 국내시장점유율 40～50%대를 웃도는 한국영화의 발전도 90년대 중반이후부터 질적으로 나아지고, 양적으로 풍부해진 국내 단편영화의 영향을 간과할 수 없을 것이다. 물론 그것이 영화 관련 학과나 기타 교육기관에서 단편영화를 습작한 후 장편상업영화로 진출하여 성공한 몇몇 감독들의 경우에나 해당되는 일이겠지만, 역으로 이와 같은 추세 때문인지 해마다 단편영화 제작편수가 늘어나고 있지 않나 싶기도 하다. 꼭 장편상업영화와의 연계선상에서 보지 않더라도 단편영화는 그 자체로서 충분히 독립된 미덕을 가지고 있다. 단편이라는 시간적 제약이 있는 만큼 또 그 안에서의 표현의 자유를 찾을 수 있으며, 따라서 주제와 그것을 담는 형식, 두 가지 측면에서 실험성, 도전 정신을 발휘할 수 있는 여지가 충분할 것이다. 그러므로 동일한 소재, 동일한 주제의 동일한 이야기도 장편 영화와 비교하여 표현 방법과 제작 방식이 확연히 달라질 수 있다. 본 영화와 그에 따른 제작보고서는 그것에 중점을 두고 볼 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 16mm 단편영화 <나쁜 여자의 최후>의 제작과정을 통해 단편영화를 제작하는 데 있어 단계별 중요과정들에 대한 하나의 실례를 제시할 수 있으리라 본다. (영문초록)[영문초록] is a short film about a woman I(the narrator in the film) remember. In other words, this is the story of the woman which does not believe in love. I wanted to find myself through this film as well as through its filmmaking process. It may look irrelevant that I try to find myself while talking about a woman. At first, it seems the story of a woman, but if you look at this film carefully, it builds up into the several stories of the women I have known. Moreover, it does not deal with only the women but the nature of human being. As the story about life and death, I finally intended to find myself as a human being. This film is an essay, which I springs from my personal experiences in last few years. Using the voice-over of the actor, I tried to give the same impression as in reading an written essay. To fortify the impression, I reconstructed various elements such as dialogue, montage, voice-over, text, etc.. Therefore, it rarely has the form of conventional narrative films. This production note is the record of the whole process of making the film:story(concept-synopsis-scenario), art direction, casting, location scouting, shooting, editing, etc.. In other words, it contains all the plans and results from the beginning of the process to its end. I expect the data presented in this note to give a chance for those beginning filmmakers to overlook the every step of filmmaking process.
