(논문요약)[국문] 본 연구는 동화 백설공주를 각색하여 만든 두 영화의 의상디자인을 비교•분석 하고,한국에서 동화 ‘백설 공주’를 각색하여 영화를 제작한다는 가상의 설정 하에 영화의상디자인을 제작하는 연구이다. 먼저,동화 백설공주의 원작은 KHM 53.『백설공주』로 선정하였다.70개국의 언어로 번역되어 가장 대중적으로 알려져 있기 때문이다.KHM 53.『백설공주』을 바탕으로 만든 영화 중 <Mirror, Mirror(2013)>와 <Snow White and the Huntsman>을 선정하였다.두 영화는 미국 박스오피스 (개봉 년도 2012년을 기준) 에서 각각 17위,49위로 백설공주를 영화화한 작품들 중에서 가장 많은 수익을 올 렸다.그리고 두 영화의 의상감독은 영화계에서 전문적으로 활동하며 각종 영화제 에서 의상상을 수여받거나 후보 지명되기를 거듭하는 이시오카 에이코(Ishioka Eiko)와 콜린 앳우드(Colleen Atwood)가 참여한 작품으로 가치가 있기 때문이다. 따라서 KHM(그림형제의 「가정과 아동의 동화」Kinder-und Hausmärchen의 약어)과 영화의상에 대한 이론적 배경을 고찰하였다.그리고 두 영화의 전체적인 작품 분석 및 주요 인물인 왕비와 백설공주의 의상디자인에 대해 비교·분석하고,공 통적으로 나타나는 장면 5장면에서 나타나는 의상의 색상,소재,실루엣,문양,표현 특성으로 나누어 살펴보았다.이를 통해 영화 <Mirror,Mirror>와 영화 <Snow White and the Hunts man>에 각각 동양인의 감성과 서양인의 감성이 어떻게 표현 되고 있는지에 대해 살펴보았다.이를 바탕으로 한국에서 <백설공주> 영화를 제작 한다는 가정 하에 현대적으로 재해석한 영화의상디자인을 제작하였다.따라서 본 연구는 같은 원작을 바탕으로 만든 두 영화의 서양의 영화의상디자이너와 동양의 영화의상디자이너가 어떻게 표현하였는지를 비교분석 하고,한국 현대 배경에 맞는 영화의상을 제작하는 것이 목적이다. 이에 본 연구는 가상의 영화 <백설공주>를 현대와 가상세계를 한계 없이 오가 는 배경 설정 하에 현대적 감각으로 재해석하여 왕비와 백설공주 캐릭터의 의상디 자인을 제작하였다.제작은 왕비 의상 3벌,백설공주 의상 2벌로 두 작품에 공통적 으로 나타난 5장면을 바탕으로 하였다.제작 시,두 영화에 나타난 캐릭터의 성격과 심리 상태를 비슷하게 설정하였으며,동,서양의 감성이 어우러질 수 있도록 디자인 하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 위의 분석 결과를 바탕으로 동양인과 서양인이 각각 하나의 동화 이야기를 어떻 게 느끼고 표현했는지를 충분히 이해해봄으로써 앞으로 우리나라 영화의상디자인 분야의 중요성 및 가치를 재고하는 계기가 되기를 기대한다. (영문초록)[영문] This research is to analyze and compare costumes two movies dramatized from fairly tale‘Snow White’and to produce movie costume design under the hypothesis that the movie is dramatized from Korean fairly tale ‘Snow White’. First of all, an original work of fairly tale Snow White is selected as KHM 53.<Mirror,Mirror(2013)> and<Snow White and the Hunts man> was selected among the movies based on『Snow White』’s story. Two movies were ranked 17 and 49 respectively in U.S. Box office(as of 2012 release date)and reached the most profits among Snow white dramatized movies.Also,two costume directors actively involved with movie field and received/nominated for numerous film festivals were Ishioka Eiko and Colleen Atwood. Hence KHM(Brudel Grimm’s「Tales of children and the home」Kinder-und Hausmärchen’s abbreviation) and movie costume’s theoretical background was taken into consideration. And general analysis and main characters,queen and the snow white’s costume design of two movies were compared and contrasted and narrowed down to the color,material,silhouette,pattern and expression attribute that were investigated from 5 common scenes. Throughout<Mirror, Mirror> and <Snow White and the Huntsman>, Eastern people and Western people’s way of sensibility expression was examined. Based on this, contemporarily reinterpreted movie costume was produced under the hypothesis that the movie is dramatized from Korean fairly tale ‘Snow White’. Therefore, the objective of this research is to produce movie costume that is compatible with Korean contemporary background by analyzing how Western and Eastern movie costume designer expressed differently from the same original work. This research,therefore,produced queen and Snow White character’s design by reinterpreting with contemporary sense provided that virtual movie <Snow White> move between the reality and virtual world freely. Production work was executed based on 5 common scenes in two movies with 3 sets of costumes for queen and 2 sets of costumes for snow white.In the process of production, character’s personality and mental state reflected in two movies were set in a similar way and to encompass Eastern and Western sensibility. It is expected that the awareness of the importance and value for our movie costume design field could be raised by understanding how each fairly tale has been expressed as Eastern people and Western people based on above mentioned analysis result.
