Sun-deok, who has lost her chastity to Yong-chil, is sold off as a surrogate mother for Do Ju-sa of Kak-mak Island. Old with age, Ju-sa is unable to perform as a man. Despite the many temptations from men around her, Sun-deok keeps her virtue. Yong-chil comes to her and Sun-deok is unable to refuse him. When Ju-sa finds out, he has Yong-chil thrown into the ocean. On the day of the baby's birth, Yong-chil, whom everyone thought dead, reappears. Taking Sun-deok and the baby, they escape to the mainland. Feeling deep loss, Ju-sa throws himself into the ocean.
