Synopsis
As an act of resistance against his father's ideologies, Sung-il joins the student movement and is arrested for protesting. After returning home from prison, he begins to clash with his older brother and decides to leave home. He meets Ji-sook and marries her after she becomes pregnant. On their honeymoon, he confesses to her that he is not an orphan. When he brings Ji-sook home to his parents, it is revealed that his father was Ji-sook's customer during her stint at nightclub as a hostess. Ji-sook leaves Sung-il but he goes out and finds her. Sung-il goes back to school and Ji-sook finds out that she has toxemia of pregnancy. To save their baby's life, Ji-sook sacrifices her own and donates her body to the school. Sung-il cries from shock when he finds his wife's body inside the school autopsy room.
