Synopsis
In the new millennium, the UN Civil Rights Committee suggests 'The First Prison World Cup' under the slogan of freedom, equality, and harmony. From that moment, the correctional facilities in Korea go haywire. None of the wardens want to get involved in what is likely to become a bureaucratic mess. The Wonju Penitentiary and its inmates are announced the lucky players. Players are promised reduced sentences and a one-week special vacation. Temporarily released from prison, these hardened criminals begin training for the Prison World Cup. The players in Hope team are : "Chimney" who climbs to the top of the chimney to yell "My fellow inmates!" whenever he is upset. "Breakout" who has already tried to bust out of prison several times to the warden's dismay. "Question" a blackmailer with 150 I.Q. "Cult" who only robs churches. "Chick" who stands 2 meters tall and weighs 130 kilograms. "Steps" who is a former gigolo with three prior convictions and "Chief" who is the only inmate on death row. Each convict's modus operandi manifests itself in the way he plays soccer and the team wins its first game with a 2:1 victory. Through unexpected default, the team qualifies for the finals with flying colors. Their arch enemy, the Seoul team tries to bribe two players on the Hope team
