Synopsis
Jae-sop, a thirty-two year old man who teaches Korean at a private institute, refuses to communicate with anyone other than a hooker he meets on the street. He goes to a college reunion when he hears that his old flame and alumna Hye-kyung is getting married, but gets mad at himself for not being as socially mature as her. When a new student called So-hi enrolls at the institute, Jae-sop senses her pain. He finds himself attracted to So-hi who seems to be both naive and mature. So-hi, a sixteen-year-old high school girl, does not seem to have any financial problems at home, yet cannot find any warmth in her life and is filled with cynicism. One day when she is sick and tired of putting up with her middle-aged lover's demands to sleep with, So-hi runs into Jae-sop on a subway station platform. Having followed So-hi home and seen Jae-sop, the middle-aged man demands to know who is, so So-hi gets angry and takes off. Having experienced a friend's suicide, trading sex with a middle-aged man for money, pregnancy and abortion, the sixteen-year-old girl has been in the depths of despair. Jae-sop wants to sooth her pain but cannot approach her. The differences in their ages and social backgrounds interfere with their relationship.
