Synopsis
Cheol-su is a high school student trying to act like a tough guy, which he isn’t very good at. He gets to spend ‘just one night’ with Ae-ran, whose specialty is putting out a cigarette with her mouth. He doesn’t hear from her since then, and about a year later a basket is delivered to him in class. It was a baby boy. That night Ae-ran had become pregnant and had the baby in the girls’ high school restroom. Cheol-su goes to Ae-ran’s friend Sun-mi to ask her whereabouts, but hears she had left the country to study. He is kicked out of school since the ‘basket incident’ and now works as an MC in a nightclub. Since he could not leave the baby alone at home, he brings him to the nightclub asking his friends to look after him while he’s at work. He had named his son Cho-won after the motel he had spent the night with Ae-ran. Cho-won grows into a bright, precocious child with his frequent exchanges with the performers at the club. His level of vocabulary has reached a level that his friends of the same age could not possibly grasp. He could tell of future events to come with card fortune telling, another pastime he had learned from the girls at the club. Cho-won is now seven. Ae-ran comes back to Korea as a boss of Jeol-gu who is lingerie designer and also Cheol-su’s high school friend.
