Synopsis
Gijichon (military camp town) is still open. "American Alley" is the new name of Gijichon; here, there are no more Yanggonjus (term used for women who get paid by foreign soldiers in return for sexual favors) who are called "the best dollar earners." Now, only old ladies and entertainers from the Philippines and Russia are living there. American soldiers always come to and fro the American Alley just like before. So, these women must become stronger to "survive." Some women choose to marry or give birth to children. Others get divorced and get evicted. These appalling incidents that they experience in a brief space of time happen while they eat, get dressed, go to bed, and endlessly travel on bus and airplane.
